Brian Thompson condoned violence every day of his professional life. Actively sought out violence, hired consultants to come up with ever-more creative and quasi-legal ways to do violence.
This violence was indifferent, focused, unrestrained, and targeted the most vulnerable people in the country. Who were *HIS CUSTOMERS*, mind you.
But it was *systemic*, and Americans are used to systems killing them.
@johnzajac yes. Violence doesn't always involve a guy with a blackjack, a Saturday night special and a flick knife lurking in a dark alley waiting for a victim to come along.
