If you read an article about healthcare in the US, and they talk about prior authorizations going up, please remember that time I was on the phone with a health insurance rep for 90 minutes arguing about them following their own prior auth standards and the rep - exhausted and pissed that they were defending their employers' bad behavior - told me that prior auths were a *product* offered to employers to lower their contribution to the premium. Not yours, mind you - just theirs.
Sitting in the health insurance beast's oily, blood-soaked fur are 100,000 ticks, gorged on blood, happily hidden behind the bloat of their partner's fetid and diseased flesh.
They're your employers.
