Canada’s first Indigenous Justice Strategy barely made a ripple amid the Liberal leadership race.
But as the #CdnElxn2025 dust settles, BC First Nations Justice Council chair Kory Wilson says advocates are ready with the road map toward a more equitable justice system. #cdnpoli
Under Poilievre’s leadership, the Conservatives increased its seat count and captured a greater share of the popular vote than in any election since Brian Mulroney.
And yet Poilievre is not prime minister. Worse still for him, he lost his own seat in Carleton. Jared Wesley writes. #CdnElxn2025
When the only candidate in your rear-view mirror is the People’s Party dude, the bronze medal is not much consolation.

In a few days’ time the Conservatives will hold its first caucus meeting since losing the #CdnElxn2025.
What to expect? Big time spin from someone who refuses to resign in the face of defeat. Michael Harris writes.
“Even in the face of devastating results for our party, the atmosphere remained oddly upbeat.”
Jäger Rosenberg attended the election-night gathering in Burnaby with high hopes but a heavy heart.
The youngest candidate in #CdnElxn2025 writes for The Tyee:
Given the results of this election moderate Conservative Party of Canada members should consider who their dancing partners are and whether it might be better to go separate ways similar to what moderates did from the now officially certified as extremist AfD in 2015:
Canada’s Liberals have, once again, risen from the dead.
As for the Conservative Party of Canada, rather than constituting a total failure, their standing is better regarded as an inability to fully close the deal.

#ICYMI: Tyee reporters visited some key riding events in B.C. and filed the reports below.
Steve Burgess: It was a weird election overall.
The New Democrats were crushed, yet if current seat totals hold, they might still claim the balance of power. The NDP could still snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Kind of like Pierre Poilievre, but in reverse.
Bruce Fanjoy has miraculously defeated Pierre Poilievre in his own riding.
#ICYMI: Michael Harris's profile of the man who knocked on 5,000 doors to see this day.

It’s not lost on me that the CBC streaming and elections numbers websites were in such high demand last night that they weren’t loading properly for users.
So the federally supported media service that Poilievre said he would dissolve as Prime Minister couldn’t keep up with the volume of people trying to watch as he lost the election and his own riding.
David Climenhaga: Poilievre, who thought for months he was a deadbolt cinch to be PM, led his party to yet another defeat. Bloc Québécois don’t quite hold the balance of power in the next Parliament. And the NDP under Jagmeet Singh? Not just disappointment — disaster!
What a difference six months, a dissident cabinet minister and a rogue president can make to an election.
Paul Willcocks writes. #CdnElxn2025
Curious if Poilievre will go back to wearing glasses now and stop enhancing the musculature on his photos.
