Delmarva is cool. Just a seven hour drive from Pittsburgh is another world in terms of landscape and biome. Forests, wetlands, bald cypress swamps, and both west and east-facing coasts; you can watch the sun rise on one beach and watch it set from another in the same day. The food in the area was so good too (special shout out to Caesar’s Pizza Palace in Princess Anne, MD .) btw avoid the tourist trap restaurants near the boardwalk in places like Rehoboth Beach, DE.
I particularly loved the area between Princess Anne and Deal Island. The wildlife management area was a highlight part of the drive every time we traveled to and from our Airbnb on the island.
#HarrietTubman did a lot of her work as part of the #UndergroundRailroad in #Wilmington, #Delaware, as she was born on the other side of the #Delmarva Peninsula in #Maryland. The city does a nice job highlighting in the landscape her achievements.
