It's another overcast morning here - this makes 3-4 in a row. I miss having morning sun in the family room.
Today I finally put my black & goldwork embroidery piece on hold and am starting something more colorful instead of trying to force myself to finish that one. For the new piece, I'm using naturally dyed commercial wool that I'm going to pull apart & use the singles for embroidering.

In the South Street Seaport area of Manhattan, 'The Golden Thread 2: A Fiber Art Show' returns with more than 100 artworks made by 60 artists from around the globe.
These beauties are made by illustrator and fiber artist Tomoko Kubo who stitches large hiragana characters (Japan's phonetic syllabary), with little illustrations of things that begin with that sound.

@Herbivore Oh my gosh, I’m stunned to learn how this industry operates. Now I think back to the one handknitted Norwegian sweater my grand folks brought me age 12 from their travels there. I loved that sweater so much, with angora yarn knit into the yoke design. Never had something angora again but now what I know about this, I definitely will avoid it.
