‘The 🇬🇧 diplomatic and security services are made up of conscientious people, but their attachment to the American relationship has to be witnessed up close to be believed. The more the country declines, the more its permanent state cherishes its privileged link to Washington — through the #FiveEyes intelligence club, for example — as an ego balm. There are almost no circumstances in which “get close to the US president of the day” isn’t the institutional wisdom.’ on.ft.com/42YA0f8

Hey thanks tRump and all the fuckwit Americans who voted for Agent Krasnov!

I do mean it!
With the introduction of 10% #tarrifs on everything...We are about to get some really nice, cheap beef steak that usually goes to USia.

Oh also #Australia WAS your friend, a very very good friend.
We are one of the eyes in #fiveeyes and we are the ONLY nation who fought by your side in ALL your major wars.

It's what we, in Australia call "A dick move!"

Fuck you very much (thanks for the cheap meat though!)

“Carney said Canada has a strong intelligence and security relationship with the United States, but that association is evolving as the relationship between the two countries continues to change. […]

"The priorities of the United States, once closely aligned to our own, have shifted. Our sovereignty is under threat … President Trump wants to break us so America can own us," he added.”

CBCCarney says we must 'look out for ourselves' in wake of U.S. intelligence leak on Yemen strike | CBC NewsLiberal Leader Mark Carney says the leak by top U.S. national security officials of plans for military strikes in Yemen — and the shifting security priorities of the Trump administration — mean "we have to look out for ourselves."

If there are not urgent, consequential discussions taking place in the Beehive today (ideally right now) about leaving the #fiveEyes alliance, the entire govt needs to resign out of sheer incompetence and let some grownups take over.

Hipkins needs to make a big statement to this effect. We can't be in an intel-sharing arrangement with a bunch of gossiping incels.

that really will be a big blow for the US to be dropped from #FiveEyes.

70+ years of intelligence sharing with allies is currently precarious at best and this administration isn't interested in hearing anything from anyone that might illuminate any ignorance.

it's embarrassing that we are in this position at all.

This is the most outrageous breach of #nationalsecurity that I can ever remember. The #FiveEyes #intelligence group should investigate whether the US maintains sufficient security over their collective intelligence data.

And if senior #US cabinet officials “loathe” #Europe and want Europe to pay them for unilateral #military actions that benefit global trade, the US regime are #mafia. The US has created a protection racket.

While I'm no longer in the IC and can't confirm my suspicions, I simply don't think it's that plausible that everything is flowing as normal in Five Eyes. I can see why people would *say* it is. But an American intelligence & CI apparatus run by malicious, compromised kooks Gabbard, Patel, Ratcliffe, Trump, is one you need to put strong filters on, going both ways. #FiveEyes #intelligence #SIGINT #HUMINT

The Economist · Trump v the spies of Five EyesBy The Economist

"The "Five Eyes" have two concerns:

"1. That the Trump Administration has completely gutted the top level of our intelligence directorates uh has them terrified because they are seeing things leaked out into the public sphere that should be kept secret

"2. They're worried about Elon Musk's DOGE because you've got people who are in their 20s with no security clearance getting access to databases and then just putting it on social media because it's fun.

"Whether this is just rank gross in competence on the part of the Trump Administration or the Russians are directly manifesting these things from behind the scenes really doesn't matter - the Five Eyes are seeing Russian eyes and fingers in the hearts of their own National intelligence systems right now which means that the United States just isn't a competent or a trustworthy partner to them.

"I can't believe I have to say this but if you are one of my followers in the intelligence community and you are concerned that your senior leadership is either completely incompetent or has already been compromised your options are limited for what you can do. "

“Within the intelligence communities across the #FiveEyes, they regularly sit down and try and figure out whether or not they’re doing enough to generate value in the eyes of the Americans. And that was before Trump’s second term. There’s a lot of concerns about that.”
