Happy Sunday from Japan!
Today, a look at Bitchu Matsuyama Castle in Takahashi, Okayama Pref. The castle with the highest elevation above sea level in Japan (430 m) can only be reached by hiking up a steep forest path.
A set of previously unpublished (except 2nd frame) cherry blossom film photography from Hikone Castle in Shiga Prefecture. I’m currently working on a new website (finally ditching WordPress) - all these photos (and a few more) will get a nice place there. I will share more information when the new site is live, which should be in around two weeks from now.

In this set of photos from 2009, we are at Matsuyama Castle in Ehime Prefecture on Shikoku. During our visit, we pretty much hit the peak of that year’s cherry blossom season for the approx. 200 trees on the premises. The castle is one of Japan's twelve "original castles", having survived the post-feudal era since 1868 intact.
Nagoya Castle during Cherry Blossom Season. Another photograph from my first Japan trip in 2006.
