@unseenjapan at least the UK media still seem unable to click on #wikipedia link for #LDP to find out what their politics are.

According to wikipedia "broad church conservative party with factions ranging from christian democrat to adolf hitler"

And with the PM's apparently randomly selected, repeatedly, from the more "adolf was misunderstood" side of the "tent"

So I'm not sure how much curiosity about these topics exist in the billionaire press, lol

Words that the #guardian is unable to use when describing #Japan #LDP

1. #nazi
2. #fascist
3. ultra-right-wing / ultra-conservative
4. right-wing / conservative

Literally losing the ability to use #wikipedia 100% of the time the topic comes up, without fail.

You have to maybe wonder if that's systematic. Like, what function does it serve to obscure the politics of the regimes we support in #asia / #AsiaPacific ?

I guess we'll never know.

The Guardian · Japan’s ruling coalition to lose majority in election, national broadcaster saysBy Justin McCurry

LDP’s ruling coalition got whacked last night. They’ve entirely loss their majority. It’s a jump ball now. Somebody will have to try sew together a patchwork coalition of some sort. The LDP won the most seats and lead the coalition that just got demolished, so they’ll probably get first shot.
#japan #LDP #election

#LDP and #Komeito seem to lose their majority in the lower house #election in #Japan today.

This is pretty big. What will happen after the election? Good question. The opposition is probably still too splintered to form a government.

Ishiba may have to step down after only 27 days on the job, making him one of the shortest serving PMs in a long line of short appointments.

My guess: right-wing Takaichi will get the job, and enter a coalition with Ishin no Kai.

I've created apps & demos for the #Autonomi #p2p network over the past decade.

The most recent is an app to publish and view *versioned* websites on the Autonomi network which is due to launch this year! 🥳

Previously I created a mountable drive, GitHub replacement and #Solid #LDP implementation in the browser. I also ported several open source web apps to convert them to working p2p apps by using Autonomi as the back end for decentralised, secure, permanent, privacy first storage of your data.

Examples of despicable actions perpetrated during Japanese elections that could have been funded by the so-called "slush funds" -- at the heart of a scandal:

- troll farm (one that was under the nickname "Dappi" at that time) paid by the government on Twitter, to skew the public opinion in favor of the dominant political party,

- noisy and aggressive bikers (paid to do that?) that trailed left-parties' campaign vehicles, with the revving and modified exhausts covering what the left parties were saying over their speakers, and also thus intimidating the staff by their mean behavior,

- literally every single car-park in Japan has LDP's (the dominant party) posters stuck on their walls/fences (is this paid through shady funds?), and same for many corporations on the walls of their premises,

- and so on...

#Japan#Dappi#LDP

I'd like to know if in Japan the "slush funds" created by the dominant party LDP were used in particular for the troll farms poisoning social medias during the previous election campaign.
On Twitter the accounts revolving around one called "Dappi" (which left its name to the whole scandal after everything was discovered), were at the origin of a huge wave of xenophobia and anti-left (truly a resurgence of facism) throughout the Japanese society.

I really need the perpetrators, surely high-ranked political veterans of the LDP, to publicly expie their crimes, so that newer generations are deterred to ever try to imitate them (the imitation game between generations is way overrated in Japan).

#TEPCO's N-Accident Compensation Costs to Rise Further
Society Dec 15, 2023

Tokyo, Dec. 15 (Jiji Press)--"The Japanese government expects that compensation and other costs related to the 2011 #nuclear accident at the #Fukushima No. 1 power plant will rise 1.9 trillion yen from its current projection, it was learned Friday.

"The growth reflected the revision in December last year of government criteria for compensation to people affected by the unprecedented triple meltdown at the plant of Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc. in northeastern Japan.

"Another factor is an increase in compensation to fishery operators due to the releases into the ocean of #tritium-containing treated #wastewater from the plant, which began in August this year.

"As a result, the total amount of government compensation bonds to be utilized to support TEPCO's compensation payments is expected to reach 15.4 trillion yen.

"The estimates were unveiled at a meeting of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party's [#LDP] headquarters for accelerating reconstruction of areas hit by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami."

@collin I had never use Language Server Protocol and I have no need for #LDP at this point.

All this time I've just checked the documentation and that's how I've found errors on both, the documents or the code on #ruby, #rubygems and #RoR. Being that stubborn gave me more insights on how things works and encouraged myself to contribute to more #OSS

I'm not saying is the best thing to do or nor, just how it happen to me.
