Join us at BRIG Cafe in Birmingham, UK, on 1st August from 18:00 - 21:00 BST and also streaming on the Eulerroom youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-VKGqj2GmY .
Learn more about the 2025 cohort here:
https://algo-afro-futures.lurk.org/2025-programme/
(Algo|Afro) Futures is a mentoring programme for early career Black artists who want to explore creative coding and live coding.
Throughout June - July the cohort have received mentorship from Antonio Roberts @hellocatfood and Tyger Blue @tygerblue and have been developing skills to create live music and visuals using live coding techniques, as seen in the electronic dance music events called Algoraves.
(Algo|Afro) Futures is presented by Vivid Projectsand supported by Arts Council England.
SuperCollider 3.14 release party
We want to celebrate the release of the new SuperCollider version 3.14 with the community with a 24 hour streaming event! There are 72 open 20 minute slots which can be claimed by anyone who wants to contribute a performance. The performance should be related to SuperCollider in some way, although it is not limited to musical performances but can also be talks or other kind of performances.
The event will be happening on 2025-07-26 from UTC 00:00 to UTC 23:59. For your timezone ... this relates to ...
The performances need to be transmitted as video streams which can be created via e.g. OBS - you can take a look at the setup guide. The performances are broadcasted via live.eulerroom.com, which has been kindly provided by TOPLAP - consider donating to them via OpenCollective.

I have also now set everything on my own bandcamp page to £0+ (pay what you want). There's noise music, live coding, free improvisation, mechanical techno, augmented field recordings, process music and more.

This set by @ahihi is really cool. Beautiful music made & played through what may as well be magic to me. Starts ambient and gets more dancey as it goes on.
Music starts around 17 mins in.
Renoise 3.5 intègre un générateur de pattern avec la syntaxe de Tidal Cycles.
Moi qui voulais tester du live coding et du tracker, va vraiment falloir que je jette un œil à Renoise

#clive , my thing for #LiveCoding #audio #dsp in the #C programming language, now has a #PortAudio backend which enables it to work on #Termux on #Android !
git clone https : / / code.mathr.co.uk / clive-core.git
and search the README.md for termux
thanks to @synte for telling me that portaudio could make sound on termux :)
Reminder tonight at 21:00 BST we are having a Byte Jam with the awesome @alkama DJing at https://twitch.tv/FieldFxDemo
Before that why not tune into the amazing @h0ffman at 19:00 BST he will be kicking out some awesome tunes on his Unstable Radio show at

Before starting the big work of porting my experimental #LiveCoding #uzulang #godwit 's #parser from #Alex and #Happy to #Parsec, I finally managed to get a snapshot working in #Termux on my phone by making a tarball including the generated #Haskell files on a machine where Alex and Happy were available and transferring it over network.
This isn't ideal as I can't edit the parser on my phone (no Alex/Happy there; at least not recent enough versions, old ones got via cjacker's Hugs 2019 improvement), so I still want to switch to Parsec which is not so horribly #GHC -only (Parsec has a version that works with #MicroHs and probably #Hugs #HaskellHugs too).
I put the snapshot at
https://mathr.co.uk/web/godwit.html#Download and meanwhile updated the bootstrap script as patching MicroHs isn't necessary any more.

no. you should get a slower laptop
TIL1: #algorave is known as #algowave in some quarters
TIL2: Various "algowave" branded companies exist to shill terrible AI things and terrible cryptocurrency things
QED: Accidental Agentic AI Investment in #LiveCoding nerds? It's more likely than you'd think!
I just saw renoise 3.5 announced with tidal like #livecoding and the #tracker workflow that i love! Yes please.

This bunch of consonants is an obvious encryption of “from scratch or not” – format and name of an unofficial computer music concert series.
What does from scratch mean?
A couple of examples from wiktionary:
- When the writer finished writing his book, it was stolen and now he has to rewrite it from scratch.
- She said she wanted to build a new house from scratch.
- There were so many errors in the program that the programmer decided to rewrite it from scratch.
- He was out of pancake mix so he had to make the batter from scratch.
So in similar situations, computer musician would start composing and improvising their music from a blank sheet.
Nothing prewritten – really? Well, like the mandelbrots used to quote from Carl Sagen:
If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.
Now for the 4th edition:
grainn
Jia Liu
Elmo
Michele Samarotto
This concert is a special meetup of toplap Karlsruhe (sometimes Totally Over Produced Lonely Acoustic People), where you are invited to listen to live computer music, so no tickets are required. Welcome, curious ears
keep it boring :)
