I saw story in Chicago Sun-Times about this week's space flight. It ended talking about the need to create more STEM learning opportunities for kids in high poverty areas. That was the theme of these article on my #Tutor #Mentor blog. tutormentor.blogspot.com/search/label... #womeninSTEM

Being a mentor for AI startups is so triggering my imposter syndrome. It's beyond uncomfortable.

Regarding ADPList: I volunteered early on but will be leaving as a mentee due to the founder's unethical actions (plagiarism, gaslighting). While I value the connections I've made, I can't support the platform.
I volunteered for ADPList when it first launched, being Vancouver's 1st ambassador and cheerleader. They wanted us to host events locally and life happened so I didn't reply to their requests for "volunteer" work in 2024.
I still meet wonderful people from the platform (recently connected to 3 PM's for informational interviews), the ethics of being there now bothers me.
In my research, I found this platform by Chris Mason of Intelligent People, i hope it helps Mentors & Mentees alike:

“I met someone last week with a great business idea but no start up funds which she needs. I offered and delivered a free coaching session to them.
I also offered free coaching to 2 more people in my network who are struggling with something.”
This anonymous business owner is a kindness superhero to us - offering support to people is a wonderful act of kindness.
What kindness did you see this week?

Dreams Do Come True!
When I first set out to build my business, I never imagined that one day, the very mentor who helped me lay the foundation—Rachel Harrison-Sund—would be interviewing me as a success story on her YouTube channel!
Taking her KDP publishing program was a total game changer, setting me on the path to where I am today. And now, years later, I had the absolute honor of sitting down with Rachel for a 45-minute conversation about my journey, my passion for teaching, and the incredible success that has come from it.
But here’s the thing—this success isn’t just mine. It’s OURS. Every single one of you who has taken my courses, followed me, shared my name, and supported my work… YOU made this possible.
I’m beyond grateful, beyond excited, and so proud to share this interview with you! Come watch, learn more about my story, and celebrate this moment with me.

I can't stress enough the importance of #DEI in #hamradio and other #STEM, #STEAM, and #STEMM activities. There simply ain't enough old white dudes with cats to keep #amateurradio going. Besides, wouldn't you like to #mentor someone young who is not like you? My first #mentors (#elmers) were a white couple who taught in #Montclair (#NJ) public schools. They gave me my novice test in their apartment. (I'll never forget getting bitten by ants as I took the exam on their couch. )
A Mentor Moment: Years in the Making!
I recently received a heartwarming message from one of my mentees from years ago, who has just published a sales book. I am incredibly proud of his achievement and honored to have played a small part in his journey so long ago.
Mentorship is a two-way street – I learn so much from my mentees as well. Here's to the enduring power of mentorship and to many more stories of success!
