In this video I show the process of extending a game world and how tedious it might be. The video is featuring @RowdyJoe who's Mastodon account you need to follow to sign the current petition.

Paps needs to walk from his room to a car, wait for you, the player to sit with him into said car, and then drive you across a town to a completely different location. Seamlessly.

The challenge for Dani's Race is deliberately not to be a movie. As in the game should not have cuts, nor there ever should be a moment when the player loses control over the character. Yet through all those limitations I want to continue a story I started in an actua...

Ooh, this reupholstering will be doable for sure. The beading on this is just stapled on the edge of the cushions. And everything is screwed together with wood screws. Need to acquire foam. The stuff in here is actually quite terrible and cheap. Thin cheap vinyl. Also have to figure out buttons. #reupholstering #diy #project

The Wrangler is almost completely torn down! I just need to finish disconnecting the wiring harness and then remove the pedals and steering column.
Once that's done, we're going to remove the tub and set it on the ground, then put the Volkswagen body on top and start measuring. The goal is to chop up the Wrangler tub and then bolt the VW body to the Wrangler tub with the factory mounting points. Then the whole thing gets lowered back onto the Wrangler frame and uses the factory mounting points.
I have to shift the pedal assembly, brake booster, and clutch master over and down about four inches. It's going to be pretty cramped inside when this is all done! But I should be able to retain the Jeep gauge cluster, pedals, steering column, and airbags!
Okay, additional tool acquired for furniture reupholstery project. Singer 201 sewing machine. Runs, but needs to be oiled. Apparently it was working but now not moving correctly... clearly a lubrication issue. Will appy teak oil to the furniture part while waiting for sewing machine oil to arrive. No hardware stores in town stock it anymore (did not check the going out of business fabric store, though... heard it was pretty picked over). #project #diy #sewing

You see things like "Physics", "Logic" and even "Rasterizer" and you immediately understand what you need to do to optimize you game. But "Depsgraph"?... It looks like a mysterious thing that nobody knows nothing about. Yet is it one the most problematic things there is in your game. And you ar...

Until yesterday I thought that street lights was impossible to make, so I was trying to find some kind of other ways to brighten up the frame at night, so at least it would be visible, but yesterday I stumbled upon something that might work.

alright the notion.cafe network graph 2.0
there was a small regression that caused me to have to revert the previous version back to the very slurp-y version.
now the results are in, from peaks of as high as 6MB/s to peaks of 50kB/s
that's a reduction from peak to average (6MB/s -> 50kB/s): 99.1% target achieved!
now a better approach would be to say that reduction is from average to average (1.5MB/s -> 50kB/s): 96.6% (still very good )

We all love some mayhem when it comes to playing games. And nothing makes car games more satisfying than damage models. RockStar Games understood it early on, and all GTA games have breakable cars. Today some of the most popular car games like BeamNG.drive holding on a reali...

BassBoom and Terminaux support updates
We are thrilled to announce that BassBoom and Terminaux support periods have been updated to reflect the latest planned changes. Those changes are currently internal when it comes to extensive details, and may change at any time based on internal reviews. We know that software development can sometimes introduce unexpected challenges at some point, so we’ve made this decision in regards to future support periods for BassBoom and Terminaux.
Starting from the next generation of BassBoom, which we’ll talk about in detail as we’re getting closer to release, and Terminaux 7.0, we’ll follow the below support schedule:
BassBoom 0.2.x series will continue getting support until the next-gen version gets released under a different library, at which both libraries will be promoted to the 1.x version series. As a result, we’re dropping the September 16th date and making the support run indefinitely until we’re ready to release the new BassBoom. While we can’t reveal the release date of the final version of the new BassBoom, we are making sure that everything goes according to plan.
The documentation will be updated soon to adjust to this change.
As it's the youngest's 13th birthday, today, I pulled out all the stops and finished off that #LaserCut rocket ship light I showed the prototype of, back last autumn. Just finished mounting it on the wall... He seems to like it! The power cord has since been strapped to the wall for extra neatness and safety, though the LEDs are low voltage 12v so don't present much of a safety hazard. #maker #project
