Yesterday, and it looks like again today, the NEM wholesale prices are extremely high in #AmberElectric. The #HomeAssistant automation and #pyscript code I wrote performed well, picking the peak time to start exporting in a timely manner. As a result of yesterday’s export we sold $65 worth of leccy. There must be a generation problem for this to happen. Such events are rare, but they do expedite the ROI on solarPV and battery investment. #ElectricityPrice #GreenEnergy

🐍✨ Ever wondered how to bring image recognition to the web? Come join us tomorrow (Thursday) at 7pm at Michigan Python!

I'll be sharing how to build a mobile image recognition app using OpenCV and PyScript using a fun Pokémon example. We'll cover:
- Building mobile-friendly computer vision apps
- Running Python in the browser with PyScript
- Real-world applications of OpenCV
- Live demo and code examples

MeetupHybrid MI Python: Build a Mobile Image Recognition App, Thu, Feb 6, 2025, 7:00 PM | MeetupThis beginner friendly talk shows how to make an image recognition mobile app using OpenCV and PyScript. We'll go through a fun example of detecting Pokémon cards with your

Today in #GameDev I got PyScript, SvelteKit, and PixiJS all playing nicely together in a single docker container.
The result: the game I've been jamming on can display the hexagonal map in the browser.
Despite the game's core being written in Python...

Next up, hooking up controls and actions so that I can play the game outside the developer console.

On terms of dashboards and #HomeAssistant..

I spend a not insignificant amount of my free time in the past days coaxing data points out of a locked down #influxdb by means of proxying my json queries through a user-facing #grafana instance (also locked down but has access to the InfluxDB as backend so I can just pretend I'm a graph being displayed in a web browser).

I guess it was worth it just so my dad can see nice graphs for his solar panels?

The battery in/out momentary and per-day was a PITA to get right though because those values aren't exposed directly at all and need to be calculated based on solar production, total power consumed, grid input and grid output..

But hey.. #pyscript is a great tool to do these things without going all the way of writing a full integration for HA.

Two wonderful #PyScript talks, also two of the coolest talks I had the privilege of attending at #PyConUS24 :D
Jeff and Łukasz are outstanding presenters and we are so lucky to have them in the #Python community.

#PyConUS Sprints for Tuesday:

Room 308: #RouteE
Route 309: #GnuMailman
Room 310/311: #PiecesOS (#GenAI, #LLM tool), Strawberry GraphQL
Room 315: #PyPA Packaging, Cloud Custodian

There are so many projects sprinting today at #PyConUS that I was not able to fit them into a single post. Here are the remaining ones:

Room 316: @beeware, #pyscript, Pallets Projects
Room 317: aio-libs, @ppb, @pytexas, #PyZombis
Room 318: Accelerated Python on GPU, Plotly Python App Building, Mesa
