Watching Shrinking - US comedy-drama (does US TV make anything else any more?) with Jason Segel and Harrison Ford.

As wrong and stupid about therapy as one might expect from a TV show, but sometimes resonant about trauma and mental illness in a way you don't often see.

Life’s been so weird this decade, I’ve been catching up on some seriously good sci-fi and dystopian series. Here’s what I’ve been binging lately:

🔩 Silo (Apple TV+) – Secrets, lies, and life underground
🌌 Andor (Disney+) – The Rebellion begins with a spark
🚀 For All Mankind (Apple TV+) – What if the space race never ended?
🧟‍♂️ The Last of Us (Max) – Fungi, fear, and fierce survival
🧠 Severance (Apple TV+) – Work-life balance, but terrifying

Got recs in the same vein? Drop them below 👇✨🛸

The Severance S2 trailer is mysterious and important!

Poring over every frame of this

Help me find some more TV shows to watch! I like shows with women as main characters; shows with found family; shows with LGBT characters; shows with characters of colour; shows with very competent characters. Murders are okay but I prefer to avoid shows with sexual assaults. I don't like a lot of God/Religion if I can avoid it. I am open to all fictional TV genres.

Watching Silo, and I can't tell if it's good or not. Good performances and interesting setting, lots of interesting questions so far. Hope there are interesting answers. A bit like 'Lost' in that way, but more cohesive.

Our recuperating household needs a new bingeable show.

We loved Ted Lasso, Good Omens, Severance, Beforeigners, Lucifer and The Good Place, and the first season of Altered Carbon, but couldn't stand the second.

So all genres are on the table, but a general upbeatness or a mystery where the good/bad is clear is preferred.

Not keen on being asked to like terrible characters.

Any recommendations?

Edit to add: Thanks to everyone who replied! I have a lovely set of new things to watch.

Most of the comedian self-insert sitcoms - This Way Up, Game Face, Starstruck - are fine, definitely watchable.

Juice by Mawan Rizwan on the BBC is really good. Really good. I love its magical realism and silliness and honesty and its heart. Finding out that Jamma's mum and bro are played by Mawan's IRL mum and bro gave me a happy.

I really hope they make more, I miss it already.
