Fun House (Scott Morgan, 1982) starts with a clown shoving the player in a pit and the player giving them a shave.
It keeps getting weirder from there.

The conclusion to my history of the Interact Computer and Troll Hole Adventure. Includes a picture of a prototype, very bad marketing skills, and why the French version of the game ended up having much more prominence than the English one.

The obscure Interact computer made in Michigan only sold in the thousands, but made an impact in France. I tell the story behind the computer (and how France got involved), and how the tech influenced the game I'm still only partway through (The Troll Hole Adventure).

The best thing about Vampire's Castle is that you need a bucket to collect the water, but once you *have* the water you won't need the bucket anymore and can free up space in your inventory by dropping it. (You will still have the water)
While they may not be a playable race in my upcoming game The Spirit in the Door, they still make an appareance in their trademark job as messengers.

The conclusion of the Apple II game Sherwood Forest, involving some antics to entertain the Merry Men, impress Maid Marion, and completely bypass the Sheriff who is a bit of a jerk anyway

All the Adventures is starting to wind down on 1982. Sherwood Forest is the last Apple II graphical game left!
Dale Johnson of the extremely difficult Madventure and Palace in Thunderland returns with something that seems to be a little bit easier ... so far.
At All the Adventures, the conclusion to the Very British game Time Adventure, involving Merlin in a high-tech laboratory, the boat Queen Elizabeth 2, and warding off a fantasy creature with Terry Wogan's smelly socks.

Peter Smith, who previously borrowed heavily from Supersoft's version of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy to make his own "Hitch-Hiker", returns in this time-travel game which seems to be mostly (?) original and includes a mechanic very rarely seen in this period.
Recently on All the Adventures I featured a game (Hitch-hiker) which adapted some of the locations and puzzles from a totally different commercial game. Danger Island (for Dragon 32) does the same thing (adapting an obscure game for the Acorn Atom).
Next on All the Adventures, I play the first three "Misadventures", naughty games by the "Softcore Software Co." via Bob Krotts of Dayton, Ohio.

Not sure #wishlistwednesday counts for demos on #Itch.io but here we are, I am putting finishing touches on "The Spirit in the Door" before public playtest

The German #demo of "The Spirit in the Door" now on #Itch.io!
Next on All the Adventures:
Kirsch continues his wild exploration of different genres as the protagonist squares off against the brothers of the Dalton Gang.
Includes location-and-condition-based event triggers, unannounced softlocks and Dirty Harry.
New #GeniusLoci article:
Agorisai - the world's oldest city
City building is a joy, with so much to fit into a small space.
Agorisai is the home #city of a playable character in my upcoming #textadventure #game The Spirit in the Door!
And definitely on my list of locations for further publications; a city irddles by ancient spells, still ongoing, what's not to love for telling a story.
A new quest begins! This one's vaguely Dr. Who shaped, as we play a Time Warden looking for the Key of Time before the universe implodes.
The game itself is unpublished -- found by the author in an old pile of tapes years later -- and hence extremely obscure.
in my 1337th post on Renga in Blue, I give the finale of Dan Kitchen's early game Crystal Caverns
https://bluerenga.blog/2025/03/16/crystal-caverns-estate-landlord/
This is my third post about Crystal Caverns, the text adventure from Dan Kitchen (of Activision fame).
The game now lurches close to the end, but I wanted to write a post about a particularly horrendous moment of parser confusion.
