When writing about both the Trump regime's ethnic cleansing project, and the ensuing reign of terror being conducted on our streets by the Gestapo, I've tried to focus on a few reoccurring, and important lines of examination. We've talked a lot about the way local police forces are aiding the Trumpenreich's white nationalist mass deportation project, the role that a pre-existing "counterterrorism" mass surveillance panopticon is playing in the larger fascist agenda to transform America into a dictatorship, and how everything Trump is doing here is built on the already massive skeleton of a racist, fascist police state that was created long before the Swine Emperor ever took office. All of which exemplifies what I've been saying about Donald Trump and the MAGA movement since 2016; namely that Downmarket Mussolini and his entire regime are at once a product of, and an accelerant for, Pig Empire fascism.

Today I'd like to look at a terrifying Intercept report from late July, that in its own way pretty much encapsulates everything I've been saying about Trump, the Gestapo, and the cop-humping fascist society that produced them. A recent investigation reveals that at least eight (and almost certainly more) states and municipalities are sharing their racist, unsupervised, and extremely flawed "gang database" entries with ICE, who are using that data to kidnap and deport people often guilty of nothing more than a civil violation (or indeed, nothing at all) in our workplaces and on our streets.

theintercept.com/2025/07/22/ic

State Cops Quietly Tag Thousands as Gang Members — and Feed Their Names to ICE

"An investigation by The Intercept found that at least eight states and large municipalities funnel their gang database entries to ICE — which can then use the information to target people for arrest, deportation, or rendition to so-called “third countries.” Some of the country’s largest and most immigrant-dense states, like Texas, New York, Illinois, and Virginia, route the information to ICE through varied paths that include a decades-old police clearinghouse and a network of post-9/11 intelligence-sharing hubs.

Both federal immigration authorities and local police intelligence units operate largely in secret, and the full extent of the gang database-sharing between them is unknown. What is known, however, is that the lists are riddled with mistakes: Available research, reporting, and audits have revealed that many contain widespread errors and encourage racial profiling."

Well, the American police state is certainly the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it? Although the article doesn't directly articulate it, what you are looking at here is the nightmare confluence of over four decades of Pig Empire racialized policing policy, transforming into a many-headed Gestapo hydra at Trump's beck and call. The American obsession with gang violence rises out of 80's era US white supremacist politics, where virtually all crime committed by non-whites was racially coded under the auspices of gang activity to allow a largely bipartisan, cop-humping political class to portray marginalized communities as a threat to upstanding (white) citizens in need of aggressive and quite lucrative (for some) policing. The political rhetoric of this era, which continued well into the 90's, defined it as "the War on Drugs," but in reality it was, and always has been a war on marginalized communities. After 9/11, this War on Drugs, was fused with the alarming rise of a new counterterrorism police state inside America, as part of the "War on Terror." This too, turned out to pretty much be a war on nonwhite people, although the government also found time to expand it to include all sorts of dissenters, including anti-war activists, anti-police violence activists, and uh, dangerous environmentalist teens who believe in scientifically-verifiable climate crisis. Regardless of whatever purpose these programs were created to achieve, the reality is that they have resulted in the systemization of racialized policing and oppression in our society.

Naturally then, it only stands to reason that a fascist regime, built around the myth of a formerly-racially pure fallen America, conducting a white nationalist ethnic cleansing project before our very eyes, would seek to integrate the pre-existing, fascist American police state into its even more racially-focused operations; after all, we did build him a machine that already oppresses the shit out of minorities, and that's something the Trump regime wants to do a lot more of. When Tom Homan tells you kidnapped migrants are in a gang because he says so, this pre-existing structure is what he's relying on to make his propaganda hold water in the American discourse. To paraphrase hip Zoomers, if you don't want the torment nexus to fall into the hands of literal fucking nazis, don't build the torment nexus in the first place.

La fierté perdue, la honte et la vengeance (Kentucky)

(Lire la totalité de ma présentation ici :

Le denier livre de la grande sociologue américaine Arlie Russell Hochschild, Stolen Pride. Loss, Shame, and the Rise of the Right (The New Press 2024), s’inscrit dans une série d’enquêtes qu’elle mène dans les États Rouges, qui votent massivement pour Trump aux États-Unis (80 % dans la ville qui fait l’objet de son étude). Elle avait auparavant travaillé avec des habitants de Louisiane, en Floride, matériau qui avait donné lieu à la publication, en 2016, du livre Strangers in their own land : Anger and Mourning on the American Right, New York, The New Press, 2016.

I understand that given the sheer volume of horrible fascist shit the Trump regime is doing right now, it can be difficult to keep up with all the specific ways they're transforming the United States into essentially the Fourth Reich. Even acknowledging that however, I'm having a hard time understanding why the Trump Regime's machinations to establish a globalized network of concentration camps in countries not subject to American law, isn't a much bigger story; particularly given the alarming implications of that activity and the fact that the Supreme Court just greenlit the Trump regime's blatantly illegal migrant trafficking scheme on unrelated procedural grounds. Apparently shipping over 200 migrants to CECOT in El Salvador is an alarming sign of burgeoning Trumpenreich fascism, but planning to illegally ship thousands and thousands migrants to concentration camps just like CECOT, all over the developing world, is now business as usual.

For more details on the most alarming story you've heard almost nothing about, let's turn to this important report by Nick Turse on the Intercept's investigation into Trump's global gulag.

theintercept.com/2025/06/25/tr

Trump’s Global Gulag Search Expands to 53 Nations

"An Intercept investigation finds that the Trump administration has been hard at work trying to expand its global gulag for expelled immigrants, exploring deals with a quarter of the world’s nations to accept so-called third-country nationals — deported persons who are not their citizens.

To create this archipelago of injustice, the U.S. government is employing strong-arm tactics with dozens of smaller, weaker, and economically dependent nations. The deals are being conducted in secret, and neither the State Department nor U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will discuss them. With the green light from the Supreme Court, thousands of immigrants are in danger of being disappeared into this network of deportee dumping grounds.

“The Supreme Court’s ruling leaves thousands of people vulnerable to deportation to third countries where they face torture or death, even if the deportations are clearly unlawful,” said Leila Kang, a staff attorney at Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, a group that represents immigrants who filed suit."

So again, I just want to review the situation here so you can understand why I find this story and our broader (lack of) reaction to it so alarming. Right now, as we speak, evidence indicates that various entities in the fascist Trump administration, including in particular the State Department under Marco Rubio, are conducting secret negotiations with over a quarter of the planet, to accept "deported" migrants from completely different countries of origin, on behalf of a white supremacist American government that appears to be actively *looking* for the most dangerous and inhospitable places to traffic kidnapped migrants to. Furthermore, despite the fact that this is clearly illegal and even the Supreme Court itself has ruled that very similar activities were unconstitutional in the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case, noted fundie fascist John Roberts and a 6-3 "conservative" majority all but invited the Trump regime to do so until they get around to ruling on whether or not these clearly illegal activities are in fact, illegal. My friends, if this were a story about China, your media would be running round the clock stories about the horrifying acts of ethnic cleansing, reminiscent of Nazi Germany's efforts to marginalize, criminalize, and ultimately exterminate Jewish people during the Holocaust, obviously about to ensue. Instead? Pretty it's much crickets if you're not reading The Intercept and Nick Turse.

Folks I'm not trying to be melodramatic here, but the history is the history. The Nazis argued that by their very nature, Jews were a national security risk; just as our government argues that migrants themselves represent a literal fucking invasion of the United States by rarely-articulated nefarious actors. The Holocaust didn't start with mass murders, it started with stripping the rights and citizenship of Jewish people. It started with Gestapo raids, and "concentrating" racialized "prisoners" into camps. It's not an accident that Auschwitz wasn't built in Germany, but in occupied Poland, far away from the power of German law. Do you understand what you're looking at here? Can you recognize the familiar pattern of scaremongering, the de-personing and denaturalization of targeted minorities, the concentration of potentially stateless individuals in zones where there is no law to protect them? Do you think it's an accident that our clearly fascist, clearly ethnonationalist government, is actively taking all the same steps the Nazi Party took in Germany before they enacted their "final solution" to the "Jewish question?" Do you think Stephen Miller doesn't know what you and I know about where this story usually ends?

One of the perverse things about watching the Trumpenreich's white supremacist ethnic cleansing operation in action, is the way heinous outrages like Gestapo kidnapping raids in American cities, or the government's ongoing attempts to illegally traffic undocumented migrants to foreign concentration camps, have a habit of drowning out all the less dramatic, but ultimately still disastrous bureaucratic procedures the regime is undertaking to make life hell for (mostly) racialized migrants who are often guilty of nothing more than a civil violation. Take for example the recent news out of the Department of Justice that Pam Bondi, a woman who should in prison instead of the Attorney General's office, wants to immediately and without warning, begin fining often extremely poor and marginalized migrants up to a thousand dollars a day for being in the country "illegally." Of course, the fines can be waived, but only if migrants expose themselves to the watchful eye of Trump's mass deportation panoptical for all time, by using the Customs and Border Protection's CBP Home app to self-deport.

independent.co.uk/news/world/a

Trump administration wants to fine those illegally in the US $1,000 per day until they leave

"The rule proposed by Attorney Pam Bondi’s Department of Justice and Secretary Kristi Noem’s Department of Homeland Security allows the government to begin fining individuals in the U.S. illegally immediately, up to $1,000 per day.

“DHS believes that the nature of the failure-to-depart and unlawful entry penalties supports the need for more streamlined procedures,” the proposed rule says.

The new process will apply to individuals who enter the U.S. illegally, fail to comply with final orders of removal, or do not comply with a judge's voluntary departure order while in the U.S."

Now, to some degree whether or not this story is going to outrage you probably comes down to whether or not you believe it should even be possible for a human being to be "illegal" or if undocumented people being in the United States is really a problem that requires establishing an overt fascist police state to control. As a "no-borders" labor class socialist who knows the greatest trick of neoliberalism was allowing capital to ignore borders while binding exploitable labor with those borders, I'd say "nope" and "politely take your cracker ass someplace else" to those who disagree. Furthermore, even if you do support strict immigration enforcement measures despite the obvious underlying ethno-nationalist ideology that entails, everything about "making life so terrible for overwhelmingly law-abiding migrants in America that they self deport" is obviously about furthering the Trump regime's ethnic cleansing project to whiten American demographics, and clearly has sweet fuck all to do with public safety. So, this is cruel and racist bullshit, full stop.

As awful as all of this is already however, I think it would be a very bad idea to sleep on the reality that this is not just any ole racist American executive branch instituting and enforcing this policy. This is a white supremacist, ethnonationalist Trumpenreich regime that has already demonstrated sheer delight at the prospect of punishing racialized migrants for existing, and lacks any sense of human decency or commitment to human rights laws whatsoever. This administration has already worked to revoke student visas based on the whims of the Secretary of State, argued that constitutionally protected protest is a crime and all criminals should be deported, and is even working to grant itself the power to denaturalize US citizens for what it nebulously defines as "fraud." One could easily see a scenario where the Pork Reich unilaterally revokes someone's "papers" and then immediately starts piling up fines for noncompliance on a deportation order they don't even realize could ever happen to them. You might say to yourself "well its only money" but I don't think anyone can credibly argue that a Trump regime actively reveling in cruelty towards, and hatred of primarily nonwhite immigrants wouldn't prefer to deport AND bankrupt their perceived political and racial enemies at the same time, over an either or scenario.
