A mini finished piece (are they ever finished?) from the ink/watercolour/gelplate experiment. More a doodle but it's fun to create.

Although I am grateful to have lived in a an age where the internet has made access to reproductions of artworks so much more convenient than before, looking at an image on the screen cannot, for the most part, match the experience of seeing the work in real life.*
I was reminded of this when thinking of how awe inspiring the art of Barnett Newman, Franz Kline, Mark Rothko, and Robert Motherwell can be, and how puzzling this awe might be to those who have only seen these artists' works online.
*Walter Benjamin has misled so many, but that's another story.

Not a swirly day. Lines and bubbles. Teeny painting. House move day 1 today!
Packing up to move house, these paintings are still forming a disorderly queue.
Some mini experimental pieces made with watercolour and inks. Trying to explore some different shapes, but keep getting thrown back to the swirls.
