A bunch of musicians in my research have ambiguous names, lived apparently secular lives in America & buried in multifaith cemeteries ... I'm just trying to figure out the relationships and backgrounds of a bunch of old cimbalom players from NY .. a fairly niche business consisting of Roma & Jewish Hungarians, a few Romanian Jews & Greeks.

Orbán tries to ban Pride in Hungary as polls show rival Magyar surging.

Fidesz says it’s trying to prohibit Pride to keep children safe from the LGBTQ+ agenda, but opponents say the prime minister’s party is trying to create a wedge issue.

The majority of Hungarian voters wouldn’t support a ban on Pride. According to a poll, only 36% of voters support banning the march, while 56% would keep it open.

Tens of thousands rallied in Budapest against Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Saturday, waving the national flag as the leader of the surging opposition Tisza party pledged to make Hungary part of a strong Europe and end Orban's 15-year rule.

Peter Magyar, a former government insider, launched his movement a year ago, and his Tisza party - named after Hungary's second biggest river - leads Orban's Fidesz in most polls, a year before elections in 2026 and as the economy struggles.

Speaking at a rally on Hungary's national day, Orban said it was time to eliminate what he called a "shadow army" of NGOs, journalists, judges and politicians paid from the United States and Brussels, referring to his plans to crack down on NGOs and media who received funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and billionaire George Soros.

"After today's celebrations, comes the big Easter cleaning up as the bugs have survived the winter," Orban said. "We will eliminate the whole shadow army."

What I like of hungarian language (Magyar) is that it feels more like a "declarative" programming language, in the aspect that "instructions" are so compact and self defined.

For example, if you want to say:

- "You are flying"/"Tú estás volando"

You just say:

- "Repülsz"

And I love how compact it is.
