It was a great morning for my Reason For Living to break out the John Deere. Until he almost drove it over the wall, but we managed to hook it up to the car (grateful for 4W drive) and tow it out of a tough spot. Not complaining. #Umbria

It's the time of year when the commercial grower which owns the olive trees that surround our property prunes the trees to within an inch of their lives, leaving behind rows of unsightly sticks. Even so, the view from my hobby room window makes me smile. It reminds me of the first time we were here in March and discovered the row of plum trees that line the agricultural road behind our house. #Umbria 1/2

The past 3 months have been so traumatic it has been hard for me to get back into the gentle rhythm of our life in #Umbria. But I am getting there. It has been chilly and rainy, so the garden - which has been untouched for the 2 years since the earthquake - will have to wait a little while longer. The barn has been cleared of excess junk, and we will have it super organized in another week or so. We are rarely here in March, so I am enjoying the plum trees coming into bloom. #Bloomscrolling
