Listening to the Liberal Party panel member on the ABC last night lamenting their 3rd consecutive electoral disaster in WA and noting the big part played by Millenial voters.

His takeaway was that the Party was drifting too far to the left.

Where do they find these people? #WAvotes #auspol

Did I learn my lesson? Of course not. I offered Tony Abbott a Green HTV at a polling place one time after that — Bradford by election I think? He LAUGHED (you can hear his fake laugh now can’t you)

Back in 2007, I was handing out HTVs for Kevin Rudd* in Subiaco, WA. When Julie Bishop stepped out of her car to vote, I thought it would be fun to offer her a HTV. She did NOT think it was fun, and I received one of her famous death stares. Not really #wavotes but I remembered it now.

*yeah I know, he turned out to be a dick

Antony Green has delivered the killing blow to the hopes of any RWNJs who thought they had a chance of winning. Roger Cook has been voted-in to give Labour another term to govern Western Australia.

Western Australia continues to be a wasteland for the LNP. I wish I could say it's because the ALP are brilliant strategists or have amazing policies, but it's starting to seem the ALP has been coasting for years, and the LNP have been a hot mess for years.

A stand-out example of this is Liberal candidate, Basil Zempilas, who said to the ABC that he's the victim of a massive smear campaign. In reality, the only person smearing Basil Zempilas is Basil Zempilas — he defames himself every time he opens his mouth.

It's too early to say with any precision, but I would like to think that when the final votes are counted, the LNP have a similarly dismal presence in Parliament as last term, when Labor won 53 out of 59 of the seats.
