The yazi fish shell integration uses builtin cd -- "$cwd"
, which ends up bypassing fish's directory history. Removing "builtin
" lets it use directory history.
Figured this out because I keep accidentally ending up in the wrong dir when using yazi. I can never seem to predict if I want to cd before I open yazi

New post: Exploring desktop Linux: Part 3
Part 3 of this series finds me (temporarily) stepping away from Emacs while I adjust to keybinding differences between Linux and macOS, trying out ironbar for my Hyprland status bar, and increasingly spending my time in commandline apps.

@JustineSmithies even though I've been using helix for a few months, one of my complains for the longest time was the lack of a file tree. But I found this resource the other day which uses zellij to achieve a proper file picker experience.

New #HelixEditor milestone! I finally got to the point where I needed to make a new controller and a new file.
I thought not having the tree would make this super painful, but NOPE. Just fired up #yazi in a new terminal window, added it and opened in Helix.
Really loving this workflow! 2.5 weeks in now, and pushing a HUGE update to my platform.
Also... #yazi is amazing.. but seems i'm missing some fonts? icons? curious what i'm missing here to correctly render this
Ok, now that i'm spending more time in the #terminal for #HelixEditor, i'm also checking out things like #yazi and realizing the default #gnome terminal is OKAY, but lacking some features.
What #linux terminal app do y'all use? Kitty? Foot? there are many
