To look at my current desktop, you might suppose I was writing a bit about Elves in #Hammondal tonight (which is true, but only a little).

@joel On this particular machine I run mainly Windows, though I keep a Linux Mint virtual machine for font testing.
@SJohnRoss I guess I was confused because I don't see the typical Windows icon in the corner, and the bar itself looks kinda weird compared to regular windows

The post is about Hammondal, and to an extent, Daleks.

By DE I meant desktop environment, like gnome or kde or mate and such, which are the interfaces installed on Linux

@audreygwinter Yeah, the Elves of the Hundred Realms have a little hobby project along those lines, for non-Elf life. Just a little pastime they amuse themselves with. 
@audreygwinter (A very minor note, as the Hundred Realms are on the far side of the world, there are typically fewer than 80 Elves in Hammondal, and 100% of them will reassure you that they're not one of those murderous Hundred Realms types).
