recently i had an idea for a magical girl style game, that's set on modern-day earth, but using / rules!

the idea is, that every player character has 2 character sheets:
one is their mundane self. a low-level human who might have some good athletics or lore skills, but no supernatural abilities.
and then the transformed self, which is their full / character, and is most likely another ancestry entirely!

somehow this intrigues me a lot! ^^

if i ever run this, i'd probably add some mechanics from too!
the 4 phases and the investigation/villain tracks are such good narrative tools! i think they could really round out all the pf/sf mechanics and make the stakes very clear!

i really like that idea and will refine it more, until releases in summer! ^^ (and until one of my current games ends, which might actually be a year or longer, but i can be patient ^^)

also, for me, the magical girl genre includes werecreatures and mechs!

think about it:
they all start as mundane humans, but can change into some super-powered other self, either by some internal power (werecreatures), some cute accessory (magical girls) or by climbing into a giant suit (mechs)
they all transform in a literal or figurative way! and their stories tend to include themes of identity!

it's all connected and i love it!

@risa Interesting idea. Maybe, instead of changing level, you could make certain feats and skills form-restricted? Break out Free Archetype?

(I made a Magical Girl build by adding Vigilante onto Witch, but that's not quite dramatic enough for what you want)

@SilverGM i get you, but i kinda prefer the idea that the mundane form is essentially an npc statblock that doesn't change much. meanwhile the magical form gets stronger and stronger ^^
