Everybody talking about all these #ActivistJudges and #JudicialOverreach with the #SupremeCourt, as if we haven't seen this before, but I still remember the tragic day when the judge refused to sign the legislation that would allow more than eight #JanMichaelVincent s to a precinct, dooming us to be trapped within a dark cycle where Jan Michael Vincents are used up in this post-apocalyptic hellscape that is our 16 quadrants...

The 2 #Democrats on the court pushed back against the #Republican majority's decision & characterization of the case. In their dissenting opinion, Justice Anita Earls said that through the earlier ruling that's now vacated, "a Democratic-controlled Court carried out its sworn duty to uphold the state constitution's guarantee of free elections, fair to all voters of both parties."
NC's highest court has overruled itself, overturning an earlier decision in a congressional #redistricting lawsuit, throwing into question the case's status at #SCOTUS….
In an opinion released Fri, the majority of the state court said that there is "no judicially manageable standard by which to adjudicate partisan #gerrymandering claims" & courts "are not intended to meddle in policy matters."
