Via Claire Willett, there's a petition for all cis women to sign, against the bathroom ban that Rep Nancy Mace and the GOP want to pass; this would make every women and girl vulnerable to any random person demanding, essentially, to prove to have "the right genitals", in ANY federal property.

actionnetwork.orgNot In Our Name: Cisgender Women Against Trans Bathroom Bans House Representative Nancy Mace and the Congressional GOP have launched a campaign of harassment not just against newly-elected trans Democrat Rep Sarah McBride of Delaware, but against all trans and nonbinary people, through a newly proposed piece of legislation called the "Protecting Women's Private Spaces" Act, which would restrict bathroom usage in all federal buildings by biological sex, forcing trans people to use bathrooms designated for a gender with which they don't identify, and which they may not present as, which dramatically increases their risk of harassment and violence. We have also seen, over the years, as these bills increase nationwide, that they don't make cis women safer either; many of us have personally experienced increased harassment in bathrooms because of how we look, or we know someone who has. Proponents of these bans continually insist that they are vital for the protection of cisgender women and girls. This makes it incredibly important for cisgender women and girls to loudly stand up and refuse to be used as a shield for this bigotry. Please share this petition with the cis women in your life to add their names (and their stories, if they wish to share them). Cis men, you can help by forwarding this and spreading the word; but the more signatures we can share from the population specifically being named in the title of this legislation, the more impact it will have. Folx, I could use some advice.

My partner and I are both trans. We have to make a trip within the next couple weeks to a state that is not safe. A bathroom ban has been passed there. It affects any public bathroom so rest stops, parks, libraries and schools, the airport, any government building.
While it does not affect private bathrooms, I would not be surprised if people using those bathrooms are more likely to cause trouble due to the state law.
We still have to go. We can't cancel this. I certainly won't make plans like this in the future, but at this stage, we are committed.
So I'm going to ask for advice here. Is it better to go stealth? What are your best tips for traveling in hostile territory and needing to use a bathroom?

This Utah proposal (passed one chamber but not yet passed the other) is fascinating to me in part because of the reliance on amending one’s birth certificate—especially considering some states have talked about prohibiting such amendments, and my own birth state of Tennessee has prohibited these for many years.
