I've just been to CVS to get a medicine. Then I got something else, and make the mistake of asking for a printed receipt. I was treated to a saga.
I'd post a picture, but I'm uninterested in performing the edits that would eliminate PII, so I'm going to link to an article instead.
Anyway, I'm wondering how the marketing meeting went.
A: There's a problem with our rebates.
B: What is it?
A: People are ignoring them.
B: I see.
C: What if we just added more rebates? Then, it would be impossible for them to ignore them.
A and B: Great idea!
[Weeks later.]

[Weeks later.]
A: People are still ignoring the ream of rebates we print on the receipts.
B: I see.
C: Hear me out! We should write an entire saga on the receipts. "And then Harald the Great set off on his long ship to find the rebate to rule them all." The receipts won't fit into the customer's pocket, and they'll be forced to pay attention to the rebates.
A and B: HAHAHAHAHA! Brilliant!
[Weeks later.]
A; Didn't work.
B: How come?
A: Nobody is interested in our rebates.
C: Why do you say that?
A: Would you use a rebate for a rusted tin can, a busted car transmission, or a bag of snot?
C: I see...
B: Actually, the bag of snot one sounds appealing.

So I called the insurance company today, and of course they confirmed they never received the claim. So I had to go back to the #CVS and waste even more of my time to demand that they look again, at which point they confirmed that they had run the prescription through the wrong insurance, and they refunded me the $71 and charged me the $26 I should have been charged the first time.

Oh, it just gets worse and worse.
Although #CVS had the correct, updated insurance information on file when I went to pick up a prescription last night, they had run the prescription through the _old_ insurance.
When I went to pay, the cost was over $71. I was sure that was too high, so I spent like 10 minutes trying to convince them of that. They insisted they had run it through the correct insurance and I needed to call the insurance company to find out why it was so high.

I just went to pick up a prescription at #CVS and I went to give them my new insurance info and they already have it. I am _certain_ no one in my family gave it to them. That is… disturbing.
Most people would probably be like, "Oh, how convenient," but I'm like, "Wow, there are all sorts of privacy issues here."

If I need a power tool (or razor blades, hello #CVS) *right now* I’ve suffered a huge planning failure. It can wait if it means not being treated like a shoplifter.

@ayo did you come across #radicle yet? Looks really intriguing. They did a lot of R&D, seem to have nailed the #protocols now. I'm going to try it for my next #opensource project
I fill pill trays Saturday, then order more of any meds that need refilling. Except when I tried to do that for my father, the #CVS app claimed he was 830 years old, and it listed zero prescriptions for him. So next I'll look at the website, and if it's also messed up, I'll tell my sister and she'll deal with it by phone.
Thank you to #CVS for sending me this obscene box for my deodorant, which apparently was shipped separately due to—wait for it—HAZMAT rules.
So these two dented canisters of Dove dry spray were bouncing around off each other inside that massive box like frickin freshness grenades? Awesome. Cool. Cool cool cool.
How afraid should I be right now
I did not think any pharmacy on earth was worse than dealing with my local #CVS but I think Express-Scripts eclipses them or at least ties for causing me the most annoyance. That's one thing #Caremark mail order had in its favor you didn't have to fight with the automated system to get an agent and even then deal with someone incapable of basic understanding.

The History and Influence of SCCS on Modern Version Control Systems

#TFW you don't receive the email from #CVS with the record of your recent vaccination, and when you dig into why, it turns out it's because the #Salesforce mail server sending the emails doesn't have a DNS record for its host name so your mail server, like many other properly configured mail servers all over the internet, rejects its emails as spam.
