This drama was "canned" due to the tax scandal of the female lead. Then rumours started appearing, saying that it will be airing this year as the face of the female lead has been replaced and another actress reshoy her scenes.

The latest rumour says it'll air June 2025.

At first I thought it was a bad idea for Love Never Fails to be released out of the dungeon. After all it is now almost five years old, Liu Xueyi looks so much younger and probably his acting chops not as mature and will only reflect badly on him, but after A Moment But Forever I am like JUST GIMME.

Also, Liu Xueyi's characters can never have a normal wedding, looks like

My brain refuses to watch anything but A Moment But Forever right now. I'm resisting it because I just want to prolong the time between rewatches so that it'll feel fresher. So, I'm watching the grim crime drama A Life for A Life. I know there's another fantasy drama, The Demon Hunter's Romance, but I don't really like Ren Jialun's acting and I'm a tad resentful that it is getting more attention than A Moment But Forever. It's a dumb reason not to watch but there you go lol.

Truth is, I just want to see more Liu Xueyi dramas, but his other dramas are not as satisfying as this one. Halp.

Trying to move on, not working! Lol

The costumes of A Moment But Forever have some odd wonkinesses*, and they are cheaper than usual. Even Word of Honor, that bartered favours to get the production together, had better clothes. But I admire the glee in witch the designer(s) let lose, especially on the Demon Clan, it's like 'I'll take everything fun that I can afford and slap it on!'. Also; please let that gold necklace be a plot point!

Am watching episode 14 of “A Moment but Forever” Baron Chen’s look as a cranky immortal is definitely eye-catching. Not all actors look good in grey wigs but some do …

I'm not sure what the thing on her head is. A guan? A crown (in that case it's the lightweight battle version)? An assault on the eyes of style experts? In any case it's awesome and I want one!

Stayed up way too late to finish 'Later, I Laughed' and I think it ranks now under the top 3 TV dramas I ever watched. Such nuanced characters, such good acting, editing, directing. Such a wholesome and real story. Genuinely glad I found it and genuinely happy I listened to the recommendation here and started it. #cdrama

Hm, maybe the set builders at Heng Dian World Studios should do a field trip to Skansen? Of course, China probably has log cabins at home, but just for the fun of it..."

Good C-dramas, for some reason, often feature a male character accidentally dressed up in wedding dress. Note that they still follow the character design rules: they have individual colours, different hair styles, and different sillouettes. Even if demon boy* was the same length as the others you could still distinguish the three of them if you only saw their shadows.

Am watching episode 12 of “A Moment but Forever” Yuan Zhong and Ji Tanyin are getting along better. He is giving her a foot rub, but it isn’t a romantic gesture … yet

I'm impressed! This is both a coherent costume/character design, and a cyberpunk-dystopian-medievalish-xianxia biker. The sideburns really ties it together! And here we have pleats again. Hmmmmm...

Drama Recs Challenge Day 1

The challenge pic for the #DramaRecCchallenge does not specify #KDrama so many of my recs will be #JDrama, #TWDrama or #CDrama

It was REALLY tough to pick Day 1, but In the end I went with a KDrama anyway. #FatedToLoveYou has enough of the common elements of #KDrama to be a good intro,. Critically it has an uncomplicated happy ending, after a gut-punchingly emotional couple of eps toward the end.

Am watching episode 11 of “A Moment but Forever” The main leads are still at loggerheads with each other but at this moment Yuan Zhong is beginnig to realize that Ji Tanyin is on his side.

Yuanzhong's plan to beat Pei up until he happily agrees to become his disciple seems to have some major flaws.

Lol! Called it! _Called it!_* But Zhao Yuanzhou had oodles of costumes, they could have let Neo Hou keep _one_ of them.

(*If you remember my watch of FoF I said I'd be tempted to forget to return some of the costumes if I was Hou Minghao. Now I imagine a group of stern crew members making sure the actors left their get ups on set _every day_.)
