Tomorrow is my last full day of work in #Hyderabad, with a half day after that (and then off to the airport).

This has been an amazing trip so far. I got to experience many aspects of a culture I really didn't know much about (including #Diwali celebrations and the amazing Golconda fort) and my coworkers here are absolutely fantastic people (although I probably owe them some time back after getting sidetracked so many times). I'd love to come back again, if work decides it's warranted.

That said, I'm so tired. Long work hours, lots of exploration, and a messy sleep schedule have left me worn out. Really looking forward to a good night's sleep tonight, but I think it's going to take several days to fully catch up!

I've been bad at uploading pictures, but expect a deluge in a couple days. For now, here's another lovely street #dog who I really wanted to pet!

Happy Diwali and Day of the Dead.

I'll be lighting a candle in the spirit of the iteration of Diwali focusing on the light of knowledge and wisdom over the darkness of ignorance.

And I'll light another in honor of those who have died--in particular, marginalized people who died because of bad decisions by the wealthy and powerful.

And then let those two ideas give me hope over the next week, which will surely be particularly trying for both.

Felt pride in the #CulturalDiversity of #Canada tonight while trick or treating with my grandchildren in Edmonton. I was thinking that the people at this house were likely celebrating #Diwali more than #Halloween. Their house was lit with red, blue & purple lights. I was delighted that they had treats for the grandchildren and invited me in to see the Diwali decorations inside their home & to chat a bit about the meaning of Diwali. Thank you. Happy Diwali!
