"Say You'll Be There" is a song recorded by the English #girlGroup Spice Girls for their #debut studio album Spice (1996). #TheSpiceGirls co-wrote the song with #EliotKennedy after the group left Heart Management in 1995. Later, #JonathanBuck also received a songwriting credit. Produced by #production duo #Absolute, the song incorporates a mix of #dancepop and #RAndB influences. It also includes a #harmonica #solo played by #JuddLander.

By popular demand, here's one of the latest harmonica projects I'm working on :dragnUwU:

I bought this old vintage tremolo harmonica for 50 kroners (5€). Seller said it was in "good condition" but at a glance you can see something isn't exactly right. However I've gotten more comfortable with my skills as a harpsmith, and this shouldn't be too hard to fix, right? Also 50 kroners for a harmonica is bargain :dragnGoogly:

Got quite the suprise when I opened it up, I've never seen this kind of corrosion before on reed plates.

Normally brass will never corrode, unless it's kept in an really bad environment, so wherever this harmonica was stored it was not happy to say the least :dragnSweats:

"What that, in the distance?"

"Probably some homeless person."

"Let's go beat'em up!"

"Yeah."

"Hey. Do you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"That sound. It is like music."

"Oh.. hmm... yeah. It is coming from the same direction we're walking to."

"Shit!"

"What?"

"It is a harmonica."

"So?"

"It can only mean one thing. That person is not homeless. That person is Captain Harmonica!"

Will they beat up Captain Harmonica?

Will Captain Harmonica beat them up?

Will he play a jaunty tune while doing it? Or a sorrowful one?

Stay tuned for the adventures of [reverb on]CAPTAIN HARMONICA[reverb of].

Put down some G harp tracks on my new original song last night. Harp solo between second and final verse. A few of my harmonicas I’ve had since the late 1970’s and a couple are pretty bagged. This G harp is fairly new so breaking it in. Should have it nailed tonight. Running the harp through the Apex 327 bullet mic into the MXR Timmy and straight to interface. Sounds good. #harp #harmonica #blues #music #recording #gearsquad #songwriting

Continued thread

I very belatedly looked into doing a bit of maintenance on my old #harmonica. It took some effort to unscrew the inner parts after so many years. But it does feel good to take apart an object like that and put it together again. Now I just need to find some cleaning alcohol to clean it properly. 😅

A few years ago, my #harmonica broke. That's to say, one of the reeds was not playing its proper note anymore. Of course, the wailing sound of an harmonica is one of its selling points, but this note had become decidedly more pitiable than bluesy.

Recently, I looked into replacing the reeds. I saw I could order a set for a reasonable price. I wanted to check which reed had failed, so I grabbed the harmonica from the back of the shelf where it had ended up, and tentatively played each note. At one point, I heard a soft clink.

As far as I can tell, all the notes are playing correctly again. 😅

did an open mike last night. 1st time in ages. set went pretty well & I powered thru my minor fuckups like the pro I am.
best part? guy named Martini had me sit in on harmonica for several tunes (in a couple different keys). pleased to find I hadn’t lost my harp skills. at the end of the night the host (Doc) brought Martini back up. he beckoned to me & said “A.”
grabbed the wrong harp & ended up playing straight harp for the 1st time in longer ages. did OK there too.

Tonight, I have learned the whistling bit to Always Look on the Bright Side of Life on

So I have of course played it a hundred times straight through because it's fun and it's recognizable and it's progress.

Harmonica so far has been the instrument that has been most *fun* as a beginner.

Guitar had finger pains and muted notes, ocarina had screechy notes when I failed to cover holes, I honestly still can't do tin whistle decorations right.

They are dressed in knitwear typical of the late 1960s era.
In front of them is an open case with a harmonica and a guitar, suggesting they play music.
