@KatS Sure, follow the #DoubleBass hashtag. It's not extremely active, but we do exist, and the more the merrier. I think EUB topics fit perfectly well within #DoubleBass, too. I'm not following #UprightBass, but it appears to be used more by folk/bluegrass players.
The kind of question I should have asked long ago: are there other people in the Fediverse who play EUB, or even acoustic upright bass?
Having a series of "oh, now I get it!" moments, and it'd be nice to compare notes with others on this journey.

Yes! My upright bass vibrates right through my body. It's so satisfying, keeping the fiddles in sync at band practice.
I like frog sounds, too. especially spring peepers.
Tenor banjos are great. You can see mine in this video - it's a 1925 Gibson TB-JR. Banjos are a bit in-your-face, though, and don't suit all kinds of music. A guitar is a more flexible instrument, and can contribute to an arrangement in so many different ways!
