I quite enjoyed Longlegs, although ultimately it left me with a feeling it could have been something I would have enjoyed so much more.

Yesterday I finally watched the movie "Longlegs" with Nicolas Cage. An actor whom I really like. Especially now that he's getting older, the parts he gets in movies become more and more fascinating.
Besides this fantastic movie, which is a kind of its own, I also love the movie "RENFIELD" very much. In this movie Nicolas Hould is also starring and the movie is pure fun.
There are not many good horror movies around theses days. These are two of them...

Almost at the end of the year, so I'm going to post my FAVOURITE FILMS OF 2024, in no particular order... First up is Osgood Perkins slow burning psychological horror masterpiece LONGLEGS. Probably more widely notable for Nicholas Cage's character (who is awesome) but I loved it for the beautiful cinematography, the very deliberate framing and tracking shots. Wonderful.

boxd.itA ★★★★ review of Longlegs (2024)It doesn’t surprise me that I liked Longlegs more on a rewatch, as I’ve been thinking more fondly of it in the months since I saw it in theaters. Osgood Perkins has been a bit mixed as a filmmaker for me; I love The Blackcoat’s Daughter but was less enchanted with Gretel & Hansel and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House ran cold for me. Longlegs is probably Perkins’ most accessible film to date, it it’s still a challenging watch and it took me just a little bit to warm to it at the level it deserves.
