#H5N1 strikes more poultry in 4 states; #CDC updates details on recent human cases

"In new H5N1 avian flu confirmations today, the US Department of Agriculture (#USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (#APHIS) reported that the virus hit more flocks in four states, including another massive layer farm in Ohio, the nation’s second biggest poultry producer.

"Over the past several weeks, Ohio has been one of main outbreak epicenters, with one of the latest events involving a commercial farm in #DarkeCounty that has more than 3 million birds, according to APHIS. The virus also struck another layer farm in Ohio’s #MercerCounty, a facility that has nearly 85,000 birds.

"Elsewhere, the virus struck two more commercial farms in #Indiana, another hard-hit state. The latest outbreaks occurred at a turkey farm in Washington County and a commercial duck-breeding facility in Elkhart County. The virus was also confirmed in #backyard birds in two states, a location in #Florida’s #BrowardCounty and a location in #NewYork’s Delaware County.

"Over the last 30 days alone, ongoing H5N1 outbreaks have led to the loss of nearly 19 million birds.

"In #dairy herd developments, over the last few days, APHIS confirmed one more detection, which involves another herd from #Nevada. The state now has eight affected herds. Since the virus first emerged in dairy cattle about a year ago, detections have been reported in 973 herds across 17 states."

The party crowd got most excited and loud when chanting "Four More Years!" a few times towards the end of #RepresentativeWaters' speech as she touted #Biden's accomplishments and his fitness to continue to serve as #President.

At least in #BrowardCounty, the party rank and file want a #Biden / #Harris ticket, and it seems Waters came "last minute" to #SouthFlorida specifically to push for that (she was in #PalmBeachCounty earlier today with an apparently disappointing party crowd).

And today, I'm come here to say that we should support lgbtq history. You know? It is interesting how we forget the history of this country, where people who claim to follow a certain belief system, people who claim to follow Christ. We're also the ones that were enslaving whole groups of people the ones. We're putting barriers and saying that these people are less than the ones that were trying to rewrite history even back. Then this is not anything new. This is something an old Playbook and to say that we are people that lgbtq people are not supposed to be celebrated that are historical contributions, are something that should not be learned is quite frankly just not true. Where people have been part of the fabric of humanity ever since it's the humanity begun, stood up and started to think where people are part of God's Great creation. Queer people are the rainbow that represents the wide death of humanity. We are here and we would not be erase even if today you're able to do this, you are all in the wrong side of History.

DeSantis (R-FL) while backing resolution for LGBTQ History Month in public schools.I'm here to talk about something close to my heart, the interception of living, and being a black man and a gay man in Florida and why our school districts of totally get behind lgbtq pride month and teaching real black history. So you might have heard some of the fascist propaganda for coming from DeSantis and his goons in Tallahassee, including the fascist authoritarian and takeover of our schools and their curriculum. But that's not divide. We're about here in Broward County. I was a gay black student who walked the halls of these schools bra. Wood County, and let me tell you, Broward County support meant the world. To me, it was like, having a big diverse family that had my back, no matter what. And trust me, that kind of support makes a real difference in the lives of all of our students. So now, let's put aside all that a - noise we're hearing and focus on. The amazing tapestry of love that we have here in the diversity, we have in Broward County, embracing lgbtq+, probably History Month in black history isn't just a chat box. It's a loud and proud statement of who we are. And that every No matter who they are or who they love is important, I know firsthand how it feels to be seen and accepted for exactly for who you are and to not be and that's the feeling we want all of our students to have. So by standing up for pride, lgbtq pride history month and history. We're saying hey you no matter what? We've got your back. Let's be the change that we want to see here in Broward County. Let's make sure every student knows that they belong. And let's keep building a community that celebrates love and acceptance and all of its forms and let's not bully. Our Kids, let's not let propaganda in the new, a satanic Panic. Strike us again. We're better than this. They were not going back, ever, ever going back. And so for the kids who wonder whether another day of life on this, Earth is worth it, I tell you. Yes, it is. If our policymakers won't say it, if our school board members won't say, say it if our governor and our legislators won't say it, we will say it and we will say it here and at The Ballot Box as Frederick Douglass one set that which is inhuman. Cannot be divine. Another quote that sums up everything we're hearing from the other side, even cruel acts such as those that were committed by the Ku Klux Klan rapists and the Nazis all fall under the umbrella of the pursuit of happiness.
