When The Walls Fall Review – Fallen Cities and Falling Dice

The ancient city was originally founded as a place of study; a great library was its first building, and it remained ever its heart. However, the city grew to form the core of an unspeakable ritual, powered by harnessing a long forgotten god. Eventually, its distant neighbors could not tolerate the ideas it was spreading, and they attacked. That was when the walls fell, leaving a ruined city with a defaced statue at its heart... and broken roads, spreading corruption, and fanatics of that forgotten god bleeding out of it into the countryside... It's #ScreenshotSaturday, and let's talk about some part of the game! 🎮

The Massage minigame was the second minigame ever created for the game, and it’s by far the most complicated code added.

This game gave us quite a hard time, with a few bugs that took us several releases to fix, but I think we managed to solve all of them.

So, what part of the game do you like the most?

And This Town of Ours was ultimately that. It was a taboo generating minigame originally meant to be part of something larger, but the host body fizzled and now all that's left is... this. And oddly, it stands on its own as an interesting activity.

All this to say... I've been playing the minigame that is the character generation. And it's a ride. Dont think I'd play the rest of it but... wow. 3/3

Well, our 0.12 was a release done in record time for us, so we feel very proud!

Okay, but that's yesterday's news; now, lets keep moving forward, and by that, we mean it's time to keep work on the 0.13 release scheduled for a late October release, which means, it will have a scary theme.

But before our hero can stick his nose where it doesn’t belong, he will set sail on an assignment in which we will have to find something in the ocean. This will introduce our own crawler system. The mechanics will be completely random, so every playthrough will have a different location for the items.

This is part of making the game a bit more challenging than just a normal visual novel in which the player only has to click a button with no fun at all.

We thank everyone who has downloaded the game, and we cannot end this post without thanking our Patreons which make this game possible.

My band Error 47 just released our "interactive music video" for our song Zak the Maniac, a cover/mash-up of the theme tunes from Zak McKracken and Maniac Mansion.

It's a short #pointandclick #adventuregame where you guide Zak through the haunted Edison mansion.
