The closest thing I can think of in real life is something like Traveler's Aid International, or to some extent, the organizations founded to provide housing and assistance to sailors and seamen.

These days going to Egypt is just a flight and a fancy hotel; not like few hundred years ago when one would saddle his horse with hope of fighting a dragon and finding the answer of immortality in the pyramids.
