My wife @lakelaur is ridiculously talented at painting but doesn't give herself nearly the credit she deserves and doesn't post her stuff to sites that she could sell it on, so I'm attempting to get the ball rolling here.

This #FatPositive abstract goddess/demon is about 49"x61", ready for that great big empty wall that is crying out for original art!

Will personally deliver to #Winnipeg, elsewhere we can talk about shipping.

$200? We are pretty durn broke and I'm jobhunting.

Apologies for the shadows, we'll take some better shots asap. This is a large semi-abstract painting of a fat woman lying on her side. Belly and thighs are emphasized, with no face on the head, which is not completely closed. There are patches of highlighted white texture at the four cardinal points, and lines radiating upward from the centre of her back, suggestive of wings or possibly an open book. Heavy use of oranges and reds and darker tones gives it an overall "fire" aspect. It is an incredibly striking image, which will be provocative to many people, and for just as many reasons.

TikToktoplesstopicstv on TikTokas much as I support the #progress #leftists are making towards being #bodypositive, there is still a hard limit evident in which forms of #bodypositivity are considered #capitalism friendly--mostly things involving #fatPhobia, which IS important, I'm not denying that. however, there are many other body parts that don't get the same commercial-friendly normalization--because they're harder to sell to consumers, I guess. very rarely you might see an ad campaign featuring people with #vitiligo, #amputees and other #disabilities etc, but it's always done as a one-off PR stunt, not sustained awareness and destigmatizion of bodies that look like that. and I have NEVER, EVER seen an ad campaign to normalize #acne especially #adultAcne or #acneScars, unless it's to sell something that allegedly prevents or heals acne. trust me, some of us have tried all that, and it still doesn't work. rather than shame the millions of people who deal with these kinds of things, isn't it way past time to normalize them, too? (at least socially, by calling out #bodyshaming for more than just being #plusSize or #curvy - - capitalism will follow once they decide it's more profitable to pretend to support it, just as they're starting to do in fat-centric body positive campaigns.)

Wow having followers on here is different from other sites because basically everyone is like getting your posts straight up, kinda like T***lr, no algo in the way. If I want people to talk to me about #fatpositive #furniture and #seating that I'm trying to buy that has basically at least a 450lb weight limit for one person, or like 800lbs for 2 people, I know someone will be on those global hashtags for it here. Not the case everywhere.
