During a picknick on the Museum Square (Museumplein) in Amsterdam yesterday evening, these two guys caught my eye. They walked onto the lawn, lay down and took on the exact same positions. Even their shoes matched. Could they have been twin brothers?

Saw a pair of mallard ducks (one male, one female) on the walk to school with the kids. Snapped this with the iPhone on the way back. They didn’t mind me getting within a yard or so with the phone. Carried on as if I wasn’t even there.

We saw 2 of these beautiful little birds today outside our window, in our big coniferous tree that stands in our front yard.
In almost 10 yrs. of living here, we've never seen them before.
They are white-winged crossbills. They tend to symbolize family and togetherness, and some see them as a sacred messenger to bring good fortune, love, blessings, and protection.
Regardless, I loved seeing them.
I'm throroughly impressed at the camera on my #iphone16pro
