At #SouthMimms #motorway #servicestation on #M25 just outside #London returning from a visit to relatives for my birthday weekend, having a quick snack and a drink if Pepsi before I deal with the miserable section between Potters Bar and Enfield which seems to be a permanent roadworks zone at the moment. Lots more #EV chargers are appearing (not just Tesla) but alas, it seems Welcome Break have abandoned #recycling bins as I'm sure they had these last time I was here..

I had a look at the area myself and TBH this seems like a load of middle class #NIMBY s - the #M25 #motorway service station in #Essex would take up a relatively small area of "green belt" space (compared to how much actually exists), and is genuinely useful for those driving long distances especially for those who have another few hours journey left along the # A12 / #A14

Perhaps this uncle should have been less stubborn and accepted the offer of rehousing? Now he has the whole entire motorway built around him with 120 km/h live traffic either side, and can't even join it easily if he drives (the transport authority did build him safety/soundproofing walls, but it seems he didn't get his own private slip road, which would have at least made things slightly more tolerable) #China #Motorway #Transport #CivilEngineering

I was #driving on a #motorway though #stormy #weather today and, at midday, it was so dark that it felt like the Sun had already set. Most drivers were using their lights, and rightly so. However, there is always a significant minority of drivers who refuse to turn on their #RearLights in such conditions. They become virtually invisible in heavy rain from behind.

Another workday over, another horrific accident witnessed on the #motorway. People, please take care when driving. As bad as seeing the car on its roof and all the ambulances around it is, I'm sure it is much much much worse being in any of them. Hoping everyone came out of that okay, but just please people, drive careful?

Fools like this are why we in #Britain are likely to be stuck with #drugs #prohibition for the forseeable future - this young woman not only took a large quantity of #ketamine before getting behind the wheel, she drove 93 miles (150 km) to the West Country and then inexplicably decided to stop in a live lane of the #M4 #Motorway !

Thankfully no collisions occured and nobody was hurt (she got 2 year driving ban and a large fine)

@ChrisMayLA6 You mean #conspiracy to commit a #terrorist #act. Blocking the #M25 or any #motorway should be considered #terrorism especially if it prohibits emergency services from responding to a call or someone from seeking emergency healthcare. I'm fucking sick and tired of "#activists" thinking it's okay to block roadways and traffic. You want to #protest? Stand on a fucking corner with your signs! Or have a "sit in" in somebody's office. Stop throwing paint and shit on artwork, stop super-gluing your hands to the pavement, and stop blocking people from going to or coming from home or work.
