A lone #Whooper #swan on the #reservoir at #Stoneyford this morning. I’m guessing it’s a #cygnet that’s been left behind by the migrating flock.

Good start to the trip to #Norfolk with three mates; Whooper Swan, Tree Sparrow, Chinese Water Deer, Short-eared Owl and Water Pipit amongst the highlights.

after the ice and snow period beginning of December I did not expect to see any wintering #swans today.
But 15 #bewick's (0 first cy) and 75 #whooper (6 first cy) were at the roost early morning.
The weather was miserable, dark, drizzle rain and wind all day long, not that nice for #birding and #cycling, but it was wonderful to hear the swans singing and wings flapping.

Little black dog feels a little sorry of herself.
Interestingly, #whooper swans are back, as the snow has melted, saw 29 today. This gives some hope for next weekends swan and geese count.
