It shows it flying around 4800ft with a flight path that took off from Villeneuve (a small airport northwest of the city), and then making multiple passes over about 6 areas of the city, forming hash patterns over those areas.

Until he started using Flightrader24. “The first time I opened up the app, I was flabbergasted by how many planes were up in the sky. It looked like they were all going to crash into each other! Oh good. An army helicopter repeatedly flying laps over my house. This isn't in the slightest bit utterly irritating.

40.000 Apps geben Daten über *einen* Datenhändler weiter.

Ja, über ein einziges Unternehmen, das die Daten dann verkauft!

Unter den Apps, zB:
- Wetter-Online
- Candy Crush
- Flightradar24

Letztere geben im App Store an, es würden keine Daten erhoben.
In der App heißt es dann, dass die Daten mit 870 "Partnern" verarbeitet würden!

Wie Du Deine Daten schützen kannst:
- Jeder App den Standort-Zugriff verweigern, die sie nicht unbedingt braucht.
- Die persönliche Werbe-ID im Gerät löschen.

Since the terrible air crash at DC last week, I've been keenly using flightradar24 and learning a little about the things that go on, I enabled some notifications for Comms and general emergencies, and I keep getting notifications of them.

Are they common? More common that we think? What do these mean exactly?

Have I just made myself paranoid for no reason? Or are we not being told about something that happens far too often and is actually quite bad?

Manchester to G̶l̶a̶s̶g̶o̶w̶ Krakow in Poland!
(Well I guess it is a Polish 'budget' airline!)

For people following in the #wildfires in #losangeles there are a couple of free apps that might come in handy:

#WatchDuty app shows active and historic fires as well as evacuation zones. There are live cams, weather and the very-helpful Surface Wind Direction in the Weather layer. The #PalisadesFire is currently moving east, threatening structures between the Palisades and the 405.

#FlightRadar24 will show you where the helicopters and fixed wing firefighting aircraft are maneuvering. Right now they are working on stopping the flames from hitting neighborhoods in #Mandeville Canyon in #Brentwood, picking up water from the Hollywood Reservoir.
